When you choose to use Airbnb to rent out your home, you have the added reassurance that your home is being carefully cleaned for each guest. It is a great service, and one that you should not overlook. However, there are some important things you should know about cleaning.

Airbnb’s new protocols were developed with guidance from the former U.S. Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary for health.

Airbnb has made significant changes to its cleaning procedures and policies to keep visitors and hosts safe. The company was founded in 2007 in San Francisco. Since then, it has grown to support more than four million hosts in 220 countries.

According to the company, nine out of ten guests are satisfied with the cleanliness of the home they are staying in. This data is based on reviews of cleanliness by guests as of June 1, 2021. In addition, the company will provide more guidance and flexibility for hosts. They will not have to wash all the curtains and cupboards between stays. However, they will still be expected to follow the new COVID-19 safety practices.

Additionally, the company has updated its cleaning manual to reflect information related to COVID-19. It has also created a list of registered short-term rental (STR) hosts.

It’s not set at a certain price

In addition to their burgeoning bookings, many hostees are stung by a spate of surprise cleaning fees. And while there are some nifty new features like Enhanced Clean, there are plenty of ways to take a swig without shelling out the cash. The key is knowing what to expect from the get-go, and then taking advantage of what is on tap.

The first thing to do is to go through your listing and see what is in store for you. The new Enhanced Clean program isn’t a lock, but you can opt in via the website or app. Not all listings qualify, of course, but most do. The next step is to decide on a cleaning schedule. While the company is not liable for any spills, a proactive approach could save you from a hefty bill.

Appeals process

Airbnb is a company that offers a number of tools to help Hosts. For example, they provide helplines in eight to eleven languages and offer assistance 24 hours a day. In addition, they offer a comprehensive guide on how to host.

The Host Quality Improvement Process (HQIP) provides specific guidance for Hosts to improve their services. It is based on the belief that most issues can be resolved with more Host education. Using this process, hosts will be notified about the enhanced cleaning process and asked to adhere to it. They will also be reminded of the COVID-19 safety requirements. If the standards are not met, a Host can be subject to warnings, suspensions, or even termination from Airbnb. This may happen if the violation is repeated.
